Australian skincare line Aesop has opened its doors in lower Manhattan’s Nolita district. Tucked away on Elizabeth Street, the line’s forty-first location and first standalone shop in the city is offering the entire range of skin and hair products (including the fantastic Geranium Leaf Scrub), as well as some interesting architecture.
Designed by New York City-based architect Jeremy Barbour, Aesop Nolita presents walls comprised of reclaimed newspaper, some 400,000 recylced pages of The New York Times. At first glance, one would never suspect. But look a little closer and finely-bound paper impeccably organized as “walls” appears. It’s a cool concept in a pint-sized space.
