The Weleda skincare line has been around for decades, 90 years to be exact, but it wasn’t until a few weeks ago did I make my first purchase of the fair-trade brand’s products. And I’m glad I did. The small, glass blue bottle of Almond Soothing Facial Oil caught my eye and at just 1.7 oz., I knew it would be perfect for travel, too.
At $25.00 I thought, “this better be worth it” for such a small amount. And, dear readers, it is! Weleda’s Almond Soothing Facial Oil is not only sensitive and yet rich enough to use as an eye makeup remover and all over the face at night, but I have begun to dab a little under my eyes during the day, too. Why? Because it’s smooth and soothing and makes me glow. Thankfully, the bottle is secured with a controllable lid, so one won’t overdo it by pouring out too much of the product. Frankly, the few drops that come out at a time is all one really needs.
Weleda is known internationally for its high standards and universal fair-trade practices, as well as its spas in Paris and Tokyo. In the US, the Weleda spa is tucked away outside of New York City in the Palisades. On the to-do list this spring: book a massage and try out the Birch Body Scrub, another one of its nature-infused products. Love the Almond Oil for the added vitamins A and C, which every girls skin probably shouldn’t live without!
