It’s all about science at Kérastase. The French hair care gurus over in France aren’t just about bringing new products to market. They’re also about creating and maintaining healthy hair that you’ll love from your first treatment. Education is a big part of the brand’s ethos so with each new item comes a powerful set of research. Since its founding in 1964, Kérastase has remained true to one thing: haircare.
This summer, after years of research and development, Kérastase has released its Couture Styling range. Eleven new styling products are now available to help construct, sculpt, style and finish your hair with all the flair and glamour of the French brand.
“Sensuality in Motion”.
The products are non-greasy, offering a very touchable hold and finish. The technology behind the products is real: micronized fixative polymers that wrap the hair fiber, almost like second skin. According to Kérastase, the technology “is delivered in a variety of surprising skincare-inspired textures featuring elegant signature fine fragrances”. And yes, the products do smell delicious. Word is Kérastase consulted with a “nose” to achieve the right balance of scent for each styling product. How French!
Kattia Solano, Founder and Owner of New York City’s Butterfly Studio Salon is introducing the Couture range to her clients this summer. Butterfly is one of the city’s most established certified Kérastase Treatment Institute’s, offering brand specialists, stylists in-house and on demand. Butterfly has been introducing Kérastase and educating clients on the brand for over a decade and Kattia couldn’t be happier with the new range.
“I’ve been a fan since the beginning,” Kattia explained. There is a good amount of technology, and it’s also treatment technology. And with the new Couture range, Kérastase has combined the technology with the treatment aspect of haircare.” There are dozens of ways to work with the Couture range, and Kattia tells me the “must-haves” include Spray à Porter, for a tousled, loose and somewhat wavy effect, and Powder Bluff, the aerosol Hair Powder which doubles as a dry shampoo. For fall, Kattia is seeing more messy waves, loose braids and fishtails, as well as slick, straight hair. (which we saw on countless runways during the February collections). Achieve all these looks and more with the Couture range for touchable, refreshed hair.
