Earlier this year, myself and a number of editors along with our industry “friends” spent an evening at the boudoir-style home of Agent Provocateur on New York City’s Madison Avenue. Before even stepping inside, one could easily smell what the night had in store–sexy scents, sweet macaroons and some fun folks talking everything from fragrance to food. I didn’t physically leave the event with any fragrances, but it was certainly a memorable evening, nonetheless.
As of this weekend, three new and interesting scents from the lingerie house will come to market, each playing into what the brand retails and one can even say, believes in.
The scents infuse high sensuality, playfulness and a mix of emotions, respectively, in each bottle. For day wear, the “Eau Provocateur” is a given for its citrus and floral based notes including orange flower. Those who know and recall the first and “original” scent from Agent Provocateur may fall nostalgic once sniffing this particular scent.
My personal favorite is the “Maitresse” scent. Sexy, almost heady and a provocative selection for a night out, the scent is pulled together with notes of sandalwood, jasmin and amber with a few supporting notes combining into one fun playful fragrance.
Love the brand or not, the scents are worth a sniff. Kudos to Agent Provocateur for capturing the emotions that their branding and legendary merchandise depicts, in a bottle.
