Francis Kurkdjian’s “Mirror Effect”

Readers of this site know that Paris-based perfumer Francis Kurkdjian is one of our “loves”. A super nice and down to earth guy aside, Kurkdjan is the nose of all noses…a true Master Perfumer if there ever was one!

This summer, team ATD became privy to not one, but two new beautiful scents that have been created by Kurkdjian. “Composed of a multitude of facets, designed to evolve with freedom and sensuality, unbound from fleeting passions”. Very French, very sexy and very complex indeed.

The result is” Pluriel”, two scents that hit fragrance counters this month. Luckily for us, Bergdorf Goodman in NYC is well-stocked of all our must-own and nearly all of the world’s most coveted scents and Kurkdjian’s are no exception. Now on counter is féminin Pluriel and masculine Pluriel. Because two is better than one, fragrance hounds such as yours truly can select between a “floral bouquet that unfolds from Florentine iris to violet” (féminin Pluriel) or a “depth of lavender absolute from Provence and a soft leathery accord built on an architecture of Eastern cedar” (masculine).

Both are delicious, sensuous and a must for your new season fragrance wardrobe. Sticking with his classic, cubed bottles, these two new scents offer a “mirror” effect, with the bottles reflecting off of each other nicely. Aside from looking great on a vanity table, they are parfumes, so long-lasting and just enough to get you through the day. Hats of to Francis for these gorgeous new scents!
