Is it midsummer or high summer? Either way, summer solstice (June 21st) has come and gone, and it’s on to the next festival, beach holiday or summer Friday. British brand butter LONDON is giving us six sunshine-ready shades to play with this season, and we’ve put three of them to the test.
Known for its very British themes and names for lacquer (British Racing Green, Cuppa Nail Lacquer, Royal Navy) the summer 2013 “holiday” set stayed true to its roots. For three weeks straight I alternated between Poole, Bit Faker and Sun Baker, all which adorned my nails with respectable staying power. The first, a shiny, robins egg creamy blue (that I must admit contrasts very nicely against my complexion) is pretty nice. Bright, yes, but nice and glossy enough to have your nails noticed. The two latter shades (one with sparkle) are totally fun and can work day or night on the right skin tone. A bright touch of color never hurt anyone on a summer day, has it?
This collection sets out to “pop” against tanned, bronzed summer skin and it most certainly does. The shades are glossy, feel textured and look great against so many of the season’s styles. Bring on the summer nights!Back to Blog
