More snow fell in the City, but it did not stop editors, stylists and industry friends from stopping by SoHo House to preview and celebrate the Autumn/Winter ’11 collection from designer Pooja Kharbanda’s 6 Shore Road. A native of India raised betwen Hong Kong and Panama, Pooja is currently based in the City. She presented her collection with music, models and cocktails within SoHo House New York’s Library Room.
Taking inspiration from an evening spent at the Cristal Room Baccarat in Paris, the collection displayed some interesting and intricate beading, off-the-shoulder pieces, leather minis and dresses. The line was presented on models throughout the evening, with the detailed beading and embellishments having been done by hand in India.
This is the second collection from Pooja, who founded and first launched 6 Shore Road June of 2010. Those on the east coast of the U.S., or at least in New York, can make the connection and figure out that 6 Shore Road refers to and takes inspiration from Shelter Island and Sunset Beach, where the designer once spent her weekends.
“My items are transitional; they can be worn from dusk ’til dawn, and vice- versa.”–designer Pooja Kharbanda, New York City.
