I found myself at London’s The Chelsea Day Spa during my last trip across the pond, mainly in need of some bodywork. Having booked the “Body Detox”, I didn’t know what to expect; all I knew was that if I didn’t do something, I probably wouldn’t make it through the weekend. Thankfully my massage therapist hit all the right spots, even offering tips on easing the “tension”.
The Chelsea Day Spa is a respite from the busy King’s Road that runs through London’s Chelsea district. High above the bustle and set over two floors, The Chelsea Day Spa is where locals and London’s busy working women pop in for treatments. Rarely any waiting time here–check in is fast and there are lots of refreshments available to hold one over should there be a wait before a hydro-peptide facial or body detox massage.
Owner Faye Fasan has now brought her fast and efficient salon services to Pimlico, another London neighborhood that caters to the well-heeled. Dubbed The Chelsea Nail Bar and housed at the Hive London, the her newest outpost is open as of this week and is already booking up fast. I managed to get my nails perfected before flying home; it was a great experience and one that also introduced me to the latest color collection from legendary Jessica Cosmestics.
The Chelsea Nail Bar is a chic, calming space and the perfect compliment to Fasan’s Day Spa, which I’ve learned has become a popular place in its own right. Must-visit while in London; her staff is incredibly welcoming and nowhere near as pretentious as the image of the Chelsea area tends to carry.
