They aren’t the newest thing on the beauty block, but they are a little indulgence that is often worth it. Earlier this year, I was introduced to Oskia Skincare while on the beauty level at Fenwick of Bond Street in London. On the hunt for candles to gift a friend, I picked up Oskia’s Rose de Mai candle for myself. Once melted, the candle’s wax becomes a softly scented and therapeutic massage oil.
Oskia is the baby of Georgie Cleeve, who founded the nutritional skincare line after personal expereinces that led to frustration with skincare. It’s London-based, available at Liberty London, online and has been all the talk since its debut for its Pure MSM tablets and Renaissance Mask.
Another personal favorite is Sepai’s massage/cosmetic candle. Sepai, based in Spain, is only available in the U.S. at Plaza Beauty Level in New York City and it is here that I found it last winter. Aside from functioning as a light air refresher while burning, it doubles as a moisturizer, too. Packed with beeswax, avocado and jojoba, it’s perfect for warming up a room and pampering the skin. The oils can be used on the face and body; I smeared it on when I was last boarding a flight and loved it.
