Millebaci. It means “1,000 kisses” in Italian. I can’t testify to having experienced this many said kisses with the product on my lips, but I can certainly believe it from wearing Nouba’s beloved and cult Millebaci.
The Spring/Summer lip colors from famed Italian brand Nouba are not just pretty. They are long-wearing and really “semi-permananet” as the brand claims it is. These colors will not smudge in any way after your morning latte, last through lunch and will even begin to look more pigmented with wear throughout the day. Nouba is known for its celebrity following, sophisticated looks and deep, rich colors. It is a “professional” makeup range and its latest shades will impress even the most experienced artist that has seen and worked with every product under the sun.
No fancy names, just no. 39, no. 40, and no. 41. Numerical order for the number of colors within the range and a cool match for its exotic eye palette, all of which are part of the Arabesque look this year. With the eye colors a bit on the darker and heavier side, the new Millebaci’s are light, go on easily and will have anyone camera (or stage) ready with just one application. No excessive shine, lots of vitamin E and a smooth, silky feel. Most importantly, incredibly intense color with the right amount of moisture.
In the US, Nouba remains exclusive but not elusive, despite the exit of Takashimaya on New York City’s 5th Avenue, where the entire collection once lived. Today, the full Nouba collection retails at Sharla’s, a 3,000 sq. ft. beauty mecca outside of Dallas, Texas, and at Bellacara, a niche beauty and skincare shop in Alexandria, Virginia’s Old Town.
For 1,000 kisses, it’s worth the hunt.
