Since spring, a number of oils have landed on my desk…and all have proven to be worth a mention. Two of my favorite releases this year have been from French house Caudalie and new kid on the beauty block, Olie Biologique, a range of ultra-nourishing, non-greasy multi-use oils.
We know and love Caudalie for the brands French flair and consistency across its product range. 2012 has brought us their Dry Oil, which comes in an easy to use bottle (spray it on!) and also in a nice travel-size that will easily make it pass security at London’s Heathrow Airport. I played with Caudalie’s Dry Oil for two months; it softened without sensitizing my skin while leaving a sweet, subtle scent. Can’t go wrong with grape oil, it seems!
Olie Biologique’s range of oils are also a winner. It’s USDA certified organic Argan Oil is worth the price for the amount one gets (50ml) and just a little each use can last a whole season. Not as light as Caudalie’s Dry Oil, but excellent on the hair, and quickly calms skin down after a day in the sun and sand. Your split ends and parched skin will thank you!
Moroccan native and New Yorker Chafia Elqadi launched her own line of raw, Moroccan Argan Oil this year and the price can’t be beat. Simple packaging and a pure product harvested back home in Morocco through rituals she inherited form her grandmother all come together in her oils. Meeting Chafia in New York City was a random but wonderful coincidence and I have stocked her oils in my vanity ever since. Find her and her story online at: www.arganoilinc.com
